Steve Karbelnig Bio
When Steve went on Nueva Generación’s service trip in December, 2014, he had no idea that the experience would be life changing. He returned for another service trip two years later and the following year, he returned to live with a family in Guatemala for 8 months studying Spanish, helping with various tasks for NG as well as tutoring NG’s children in its after-school program assisting Andrea who heads the program. He returned again in January 2020 for another extended stay and assisted NG in various capacities but unfortunately he had to come home early because of the pandemic.
Steve practiced as an attorney for 25 years and then became a psychotherapist in private practice. He has served on several boards in various capacities in the past. But by far, the most rewarding and important to him has been working with NG in Guatemala and especially working first hand with Cindy and the amazing sponsored children. During that time, Steve helped develop a library of Spanish books which the children have received with much enthusiasm.
It is an honor and privilege to be on the board of this wonderful organization which has done so much to improve the lives of so many children and families in San Antonio Aguas Calientes, Guatemala.
